MONTANA STATE BANK PRIVACY POLICY

At Montana State Bank, the basis of each customer relationship is trust. You have chosen to do business with Montana State Bank, and we are obligated to honor that relationship with great care, beginning with the information you have chosen to share with us. We believe that your privacy should not be compromised. At the same time, we want to offer you a variety of financial products and services to accomplish your financial goals. We believe we can do both through the privacy policy outlined below.

 RECOGNITION OF A CUSTOMERS EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY

We recognize your right to privacy at Montana State Bank, we recognize that you have a right to expect your personal financial information to remain private and secure. We will maintain standards to ensure that your information is private and secure at all times. Our technology is periodically updated and tested to continue to provide you with the highest level of protection of your privacy and to assure the integrity of the information.

 COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Information about consumers is collected from a variety of sources. We collect non-public personal information about you from the following sources: information we receive from you on applications or other forms; information about your transactions with us or others; and information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency.

We do not disclose any non-public personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.

 MAINTENANCE OF ACCURATE INFORMATION

We continually strive to maintain complete and accurate information about you and your accounts. Should you believe that our records contain inaccurate or incomplete information about you, please notify us. We will investigate and correct any inaccuracies.

 LIMITATIONS ON EMPLOYEE ACCESS TO INFORMATION

 Employee access to personally identifiable customer information is limited to those with a business reason to know such information. Employees are trained on privacy issues. All employees are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of customer information.

 PROTECTION OF INFORMATION

 Montana State Bank is committed to the security of your financial and personal information. All of our operational and data processing systems are in a secure environment that protects your account information from being accessed by a third party.

 DISCLOSURE OF ACCOUNT INFORMATION

We do not reveal specific information about your accounts or other personally identifiable data to outside parties unless;

  1. you request or authorize it,

  2. the information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by you,

  3. the information is provided to a reputable credit reporting agency or

  4. the disclosure otherwise is lawfully permitted or required. We do not provide information to companies for the purpose of independent telemarketing or direct mail marketing of products or services.

Montana State Bank maintains a web site, www.montanastatebank.com. Montana State Bank does not use "cookie" technology. We make no attempts to identify individual users unless illegal behavior is suspected. Visitors to the web site remain anonymous. We do not collect personal identifying information about site users. Standard software is used to collect and store only the following non-identifying information about our visitors: the name and internet service provider from which you accessed the internet, the date and time of access and the internet address of the web site from which you linked to our site.

Visitors may elect to provide us with personal information via e-mail. This information is used internally, as appropriate, to handle the sender's request. It is not disseminated or sold to other organizations. Visitors should, however, keep in mind that e-mail is not necessarily secure against interception. If you are not comfortable with this level of privacy, please cancel the e-mail before it is sent. You have the option of calling us directly. Montana State Bank is committed to protecting your privacy.

Our online banking service is called ebank. Applications for ebank enrollment completed online require you to provide personal information that is necessary for us to process your application. To ensure that your application remains secure and confidential, the information is sent to us over a 128-bit secure server encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. Online banking transactions transmitted between you and our ebank vendor also use a 128-bit secure server by Verisign encrypted with SSL protocol and a router loaded with a firewall to regulate the inflow and outflow of server traffic. Using this high level of technology, your online banking transactions are secure.

PROVIDING PRIVACY INFORMATION TO CUSTOMERS

The bank will annually disclose to customers the privacy policy of the bank and their rights under the policy. The policy will be readily available to our customers.
